Maths Matters Homepage

Welcome to Mathsmatters.net! Mathsmatters is a Mathematics Consultancy run by Ray Maher. This Mathsmatters website aims to support teachers who have already been on our courses whilst showcasing the products and services we offer. Please read on to discover more about what we do.

Courses

Through our partnership with independent training organisers, Ray runs regular scheduled courses across the length and breadth of the UK. Please click here for more details on these individual courses, which can be booked direct with the course organiser.

Ray is also available for booking by individual schools, groups of schools and LEAs. Please contact us for more information.

This website also provides support for teachers who have been on Ray’s courses. Special codes given out on these courses will allow access to free electronic downloads of appropriate materials that have been used, modelled and demonstrated on the courses. If you have been on a course and have this a code, please click here to enter it and access the files.

Software

In partnership with Fiery Ideas, Ray has developed a wide range of innovative interactive teaching software applications that have been extremely popular with teachers and pupils alike. Some of the most popular applications produced to date are Busy Bees, 10 Maths Miracles, and The Number Crunch Bunch. To learn more about these products, please visit www.fieryideas.com where these products may also be purchased.

Publications

We are currently developing a range of publications and teaching resources to support the methods covered on Ray’s courses. Currently, these products are scheduled to be available by the end of February 2009.

Primary Framework

The implementation of the new Primary Framework across schools throughout the UK has led to other initiatives such as the Numeracy Passport being developed. The Passport is designed to address mental recall and ‘know by heart’ facts while software such as 101 Mental and Oral Starters has been evolved to support such initiatives.
